About the Artist
Kimara London — Artist, Educator & Founder of Kimara London Fine Art
For more than two decades, Kimara London has created art that celebrates beauty, culture, heritage, femininity, and the richness of the African American experience. Her work is known for expressive portraiture, vibrant color, elegant compositions, and images that capture both the strength and beauty of her subjects.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art, Kimara began her professional journey as an art educator. She has taught art to elementary and middle school students, adults, and private students, sharing her passion for creativity with artists of all ages.
Kimara later founded Kimara London Fine Art, building her career as both an artist and entrepreneur. Her artwork has been exhibited and sold through galleries, art shows, commissioned projects, and her own retail art businesses.
Her body of work includes original paintings, fine art prints, portraiture, commissioned artwork, and culturally inspired pieces created to bring warmth, elegance, beauty, and meaning into the spaces where they are displayed.
The Art
Kimara's artistic style blends realism, emotion, vibrant color, and contemporary elegance. Many of her works center Black women, families, culture, nature, spirituality, and everyday moments of beauty.
Each piece is created with the intention of telling a story—one that allows the viewer to see something of themselves, their heritage, their memories, or their aspirations within the artwork.
A Note From Kimara
Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mother said I was drawing little faces at the age of 3, after she showed me how to draw a face using the letters of the word Boy. For me, creating is about more than making something beautiful. It is about capturing emotion, honoring our stories, celebrating our culture, and creating artwork that people feel connected to.
